You’d think the Oppo FP would be nothing but people complaining that they don’t sell it in the U.S.

It’s a last gen Golf that spent extra time at the salon.

Because it’s not much of an improvement over a GTI and priced somewhere up in the stratosphere? Because coupes don’t sell? The original Scirocco was only marginally more expensive than a Rabbit and nearly as practical, two qualities that this one lacks.

My recollection is that they did, but that was years ago, when it first came out. I guess they moved on.

Isn’t it just a less practical golf

Since I’m in America, I never see one to remind me of it.

I participated as one of the people bitching.....but that was years ago.

Because it’s been on the market for like 100 years and we just gave up hope.

Because in the U.S. it’s called the Honda CR-Z. And we don’t really talk about that, either.

I think the episode of TopGear where they had to make the ad for it sums it up...

I think the peak complaining about the Scirocco was about 2 years ago when Jalopnik was able to get one on US shores and drove it for a while.

Because the original was so ugly.

I don’t know.
It’s a great looking car.
A more stylish 3 door Golf really, but at a cost as there is less rear view visibility and less boot space.
Great engine range from 1.4TSi to 2.0TSi and TDis.
Not too expensive either.
Looked fantastic in the now discontinued Viper Green Metallic.
I’d love one.

I’d rather buy a 4-door GTI. So I did.

I was surprised how these seem to be all over the place in Singapore.
In the U.S., their absence is all over the place.

It’s wrong-wheel drive. It can’t be cool. I love the look and I love them in green, but who wants a FWD?
We have them in Australia. Cool to see but I’d never own one.
